Garden Party 2017

Our garden party this year is on Saturday 1st July.

Things will kick off around 1pm and run through until the evening; most likely until the last train back to London if the weather stays nice.

Kids are more than welcome at the party; there's plenty of garden space for them to run around in and we may even have a bouncy castle this year :-)

Don't worry, though.  There will also be a larger bouncy castle and other inflatable entertainment for the adults.

Thanks to Crossrail, there is often engineering works on the Southend Line at the weekend and generally the schedule isn't published until nearer the time.

Presuming the trains are running, Battlesbridge is the closest station and only 20 minutes walk from the house.  Wickford as a much more regular service from London and is walkable in about 45 minutes, or you can catch a cab for under a tenner.

If there any engineering works, then it's still possible to get here, so don't let that put you off too much.  If you're coming from the London direction, and you're on Facebook, it's worth posting on the Event page there to see if anyone has a free seat in a car and could give you a lift.

We'll provide a buffet of hot and cold food during the day, and make sure there's plenty of top-ups to keep is going into the evening.  There'll be veggie and child-friendly options but if you have any other dietary requirement, just let us know in advance and we can make sure there's something you can eat and point you towards it on the day.

In terms of drinks - we'll provide a glass or two of bubbly-stuff (probably with some home made fruit syrup in) and mixers and soft drinks.  Probably safest to bring something along with you if there's something specific you want to drink.

Driving to the house is easy.  The postcode is CM3 8DN but as that's quite a large postcode area, your sat nav will take you past the house if you just use that.

The best bet is to use the postcode in your sat nav and once you're within a couple of miles, as a passenger to get out their phone and put "Rettendon Old Hall" into Google Maps and the marker will appear in exactly the right place.

We'll have parking in the paddock and on the driveway - so plenty of space. We'll make sure both have signs on the road so you won't miss them once you're here.

You can use the form below to send us an RSVP or if you prefer more traditional means, that an email to dan@flusspferd.net will also work.
